Privacy

Your data, treated like our reputation.

We ask for very little, we use it for the reason we asked, and we never sell it. The short version is below; the long version is the same thing with headings.

What we collect

Almost nothing. The site has no accounts and no checkout. We use Kit (kit.com) to send the club letter. When you sign up, Kit stores your email address on our behalf. Kit's signup form loads a security cookie (__cf_bm) from Cloudflare.

We don't run ad trackers and we don't sell your data. Your email address is processed by Kit on our behalf so we can send the letter — we don't hand it to anyone else for their own marketing.

Surveys and research

From time to time we run short reader surveys to power our original research — the glasses-habits and fit studies we publish as 4 Eyes Club data stories. Surveys are hosted on Tally (tally.so). When you answer one, Tally processes and stores your responses on our behalf, the same way Kit handles the club letter.

What we collect. Your answers to the survey questions — things like how many pairs of glasses you own, what you paid for your last pair, and what frustrates you about buying them. Some questions ask for basic background (age range, state, gender, whether you wear glasses, contacts, both, or neither). Two fields are always optional: a first name, only if you're happy to be quoted by it, and an email address. If a survey runs a prize draw, the email on the final question is also your draw entry — we use it to administer the draw and contact the winner, and to follow up only if you asked us to. The current draw's official rules are on the draw rules page. Skip either field and your answers still count.

What we never ask for. No health records, no prescription details, no diagnoses, nothing we don't need for the study. If a question ever feels like that, don't answer it — and tell us, because it shouldn't be there.

Participation thank-you. Some surveys end with a discount code shown on the completion screen (for example, 10% off at GoOptical.online). The code is shown to every respondent who finishes, whether or not they leave an email — it is not linked to your answers or your identity.

How answers are reported. In aggregate only: combined counts and percentages, never your individual response attached to your name. If we quote an open-text answer, we use the first name you gave us for that purpose — and nothing else identifies you.

How long we keep it. Raw survey responses are kept for 12 months so we can re-check our numbers, then deleted. The aggregated results (the published counts and percentages) are kept as part of the article's record.

Removing your response. Changed your mind? Email hello@4eyesclub.com and tell us which survey you answered. If you gave an email address with your response, we can find and delete it; we'll confirm once it's done. If you answered fully anonymously, we may not be able to pick your response out of the pile — that's the honest trade-off of not collecting identifiers.

What your email is used for

One thing: the weekly club letter — trends, drops, and buying intel. No spam, no fluff, no renting the list to partners.

Every club letter includes a one-click unsubscribe link — use it any time and you're off the list.

Cookies and analytics

This site doesn't set advertising cookies. The Kit signup form loads a Cloudflare security cookie (__cf_bm), as described above. If we ever add analytics, we'll say so here first — before we turn anything on, not after.

Your rights

Ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it: hello@4eyesclub.com. We'll answer within a reasonable time, because that's what decent businesses do.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note the change and the date here. Last updated: October 20, 2026.
